    1. Really gripping, quite different from the locked room murder mysteries of the first two books Very clever the way one catalytic event triggers a series of events with personally devastating consequences for so many characters Trust no one

    2. Norway, 1970, with a nod to the young radicals of the 1960s There is a murder of a young woman, almost witnessed by the detective K2, and this seems to be linked to a locked room mystery involving an unexplained disappearance in 1968 Into the equation comes another possible link, to a group of former Norwegian Nazis K2 eventually solves the case, or rather, his secret helper Patricia does, but at a cost to both, and the novel ends rather sadly, despite the success I worked out who the missing li [...]

    3. Inspector Kolbjorn Kristiansen is mesmerised by the expression on the face of a young woman running to catch his train But the doors close on her And later her murdered body is found on the train tracks and Kristiansen must find her killer Set in Norway in 1970 this murder mystery conjures an era of left wing political groups and splits that seem so much of its time We follow the progress of Inspector Kristiansen s witness interviews and crime scene visits, punctuated by his lunches and suppers [...]

    4. As he did with THE SATELLITE PEOPLE Lahlum has explored a theory about the cause of homicide, i.e that often a first killing sets off a chain reaction, and is the catalyst for further killings. The real brains behind investigator K2 is without doubt his young assistant Patricia She prompts him with questions to ask, lines of enquiry to take, and people to investigate However the end result of this is that often the reader is also playing catch up, and we do not have the full facts, so it is very [...]

    5. i can t believe i persevered with this and that others liked it so much The cop reports to a young woman who tells him what to do next and he does it And then he gets the kudos for solving the crime when he wouldn t have done it without her Super dumb I particularly disliked the lack of dialogue and the constant reporting style Very dull.

    6. This is book 3 in a series featuring Detective Inspector Kolbjorn Kristiansen from Oslo and his young assistant Patricia Patricia is a wheelchair bound young woman who is extremely smart and obsessed with mysteries K2 is the narrator of these stories, which puts him in the Watson role while Patricia is the brilliant amateur sleuth Or perhaps their relationship is similar to that of Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin, where the detective never leaves his home and his assistant does all the legwork Go [...]

    7. Slow to really get into it partly a language translation thing both the fact of the translation which is fine I m sure and a different style of writing not like your typical N Am crime thriller but once I got into it I thoroughly enjoyed it I enjoyed that it was set in the recent past I learned some about the history of Norway along the way.The detective himself K2 is a little slow on the uptake not Pink Panther Inspector Clouseau slow but there are comic undertones that are similar but differen [...]

    8. The investigations between K2 Patricia are really interesting the way that crime is solved without technologyHoping that the rest of the series gets translated into English

    9. Katalysatormordet er oppf lgeren til Menneskefluene og Satellittmenneskene, og denne byr ogs p spenning, og den litt gammeldagse krimf lelsen.

    10. Hans did a really good job of making everything seem real I like that and he is definitely as good as Agatha Christie in his who done it s I must say that I ve read the forth book prior to reading this book so I had an inkling of what would happen We don t know if he is going to end up with Patricia Louise I E Borshmann or Miriam Filtvedt Bentsen because he says they will both show up later Can t wait for the outcome Read the books in order if you can, see if you like Hans as much as I have.

    11. Clever as usual and anyways a pleasure but not as good as the first two and becoming a bit repetitive in their structure Becoming a bit like Agatha Christie which is fine for the cleverness but is of it s type Like his relationship with Patricia and this has the most potentiat Was quite moving at the end in regard to these two Willi read .

    12. I m getting tired of these mysteries I liked the first one, but the lack of character development is irritating It is especially irksome that our not so bright detective just goes and asks Patricia for the answers, then takes credit for them And his falling in love with young female suspects is creepy to me Is that going to happen every book Because so far we re 3 for 3.

    13. These books are clever and fun The conceit of Norway s stupidest policeman solving complex crimes only because of the input of a woman who cannot do the job publicly because she is a paraplegic works wonderfully well The fact that the logical, clever and perceptive Patricia is also foolishly in love with this dolt adds another layer, as does the sly comedy.

    14. Again, a delightful crime novel by Lahlum Absolutely enjoyed this book very much.i like the fact that he paints such an interesting historic image of Oslo and Norway He really puts his knowledge to use and it makes the book enjoyable and belivable.I will continue to read this series for sure.

    15. What a surprise, this book involved Nazis and the policeman falling for a suspect Don t think I ll bother to read any of these I did at least enjoy this one a bit than the previous.
