    1. This has all the charm and smarts of the first Dead City, but it suffers from being Volume 2 of at least three Molly Bigelow and her team of fellow Omegas learn a lot about the Unlucky Thirteen and the undead side of New York City, but all the plotlines are continued without being concluded There are also several plot twists that may surprise younger readers, but that experienced fantasy readers will see coming a mile away. That said, don t let the criticisms above fool you into thinking I didn [...]

    2. Molly and her team have been suspended following Molly s adventures in Dead City, but they are still prepared to investigate when a zombie is found dead, handcuffed to a subway car that has gone far enough away from the Manhattan schist to finally kill him After Dr Hildago s investigation into the George Washington bridge incident that lead to the apparent death of the leader of the Unlucky 13, Marek Blackwell, the team is assigned to help with the Baker s Dozen Project The Unlucky 13 have been [...]

    3. Things amp up a bit for Molly and her friends once they are asked by Molly s zombie mother to work on the Baker s Dozen After narrowly escaping permanent suspension, Molly and her friends set out to solve the riddle they ve been given If they can solve it, they can stay Omegas Molly is determined not to let her friends down after they stood up for her As they learn about the original thirteen zombies and their future plans, they realize that not only are they in danger, but so is the whole city [...]

    4. 3.5 stars.Action packed adventure for all ages This is one of my son s favorite series and although its taken me a while to get to them I m glad to be doing so Molly is a brave young girl on a mission to help her OMEGA team and protect people from Zombies Her team and her have to solve riddles and find clues to lead them to each situation which brings them closer to finding out what the real plan the Zombies have in store Fun, cute and easy to read Lets see how it all ends in book 3.

    5. Molly s world is flipped upside down when she discovers that there are zombies living under New York Not only does Molly have to balance omega traning and school work but now she struggles between lies and truths, friends and enimes, and zombies and humans Can Molly save New York before its to late.I recomend this book to people who like action and zombies I really enjoyed the book and cant wait to read the third book of the series.

    6. This book was probably one of my favorites in the series, even though I haven t read the third one yet I can predict this one will be my favorite.Just seeing how much Molly grows as a person and as an Omega it s just mind blowing, the trust she shares with her friends and how she starts to realize it towards the end.And the plot twist at the end,don t even get me started just wow James Ponti really did do an amazing job illustrating this book

    7. A student at school recommended this series and has been lending them to me It s a good story for upper elementary and middle school readers It has some adventures and suspense and even though the main character is a girl, I think boys would also like it But, the girl does kick butt so it s good for girls to read a book with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer character but tamed down for elementary students girlpower

    8. You know how some books sequels don t quite measure up to the first one Well, this is NOT that kind of book It s just as good if not better than Dead City, and again, what a cliffhanger I can t believe I ve never read this series before It s so good

    9. Second in the series and to me took a slight step back, partially as it really only covered a brief span of time and plot just not enough to fill the pages The ending portended greater things in the next story, so hoping this is just a dip and not a mark of the series tailing off in total.

    13. I like how this author writes dialogue and humor The bantering between family members is a hoot Actually, they go beyond bantering and have a competition as to which member can outwit the other It begins with their dad wanting family time with Molly, the protagonist, and her sister, Beth Mom is dead The father takes away one s phone and the other s Internet for one night They get him back by making him scrapbook and miss a football game another night They all have a great time in the end on thei [...]

    14. 4 Stars. In the first of this series Molly Bigelow an awkward young girl with mismatched eyes learned that she was destined to follow in her deceased mother s footsteps as part of a zombie killing initiative known as Omega While Molly was able to defeat Marek, the head of the Unlucky 13 the 13 first zombies and rulers on Manhattan s undead underground it did not come without consequences Her lack of social skills and secretiveness lead Molly to subject her team to a possible disbandment She also [...]

    15. Last year, James Ponti blew me away with his middle grade zombie adventure Dead City, which was one of my absolute favorite books of 2012 well, Ponti has returned to his zombie filled world with the explosive and exciting sequel Blue Moon, which has already found a place on my fave books of this year so far list In Dead City, young, snarky Molly Bigelow discovered that her dead mother was once part of an elite team of zombie killers, called Omega, who hunted down the dangerous and deadly zombies [...]

    16. In the book, Dead City Blue Moon, the Blue Moon represents an event that may turn 1 million people into zombies The main characters in this book are Molly, Grayson, Natalie, and Alex who are on the Omega team They save New York City from the plan that the zombies have called Blue Moon This story is about a team of Omegas that try to keep the zombies in Dead City separate from the humans above It s also about the Unlucky 13, also known as the Blackwell family A long time ago they blew up this big [...]

    17. Check out Scott Reads It Dead City was a wildcard when I had had first requested it last year, all I knew about it was that it featured zombies and that Suzanne Collins blurbed it I m so glad that I read Dead City because it s one of the best middle grade books out there In book 2, Blue Moon these are zombies like you ve never seen them Ponti has reinvented zombies in a groundbreaking way Everything in Dead City is bigger and better than ever before the humor is omnipresent, there is non stop a [...]

    18. This review is also posted at readingnookandcranny.Molly and the Omega gang are back and ready for their next big adventure That is, if they can get approval from the review board to keep their rag tag team together after Molly s mishaps in the first novel.Based on the way the first novel ending went, I thought Blue Moon was going to be a bit of an emotional roller coaster for Molly as she realizes that her mother is still alive and deals with the repercussions And while Molly does have a few s [...]

    19. I, Molly Bigelow, resolve to stay alive That s it.Right from the start, I can see James Ponti s signature voice in Molly and through her I love the humor in her narration and I really liked the way Ponti addressed the issues of the first book, such as the ending where Molly meets a certain someone I thought that was really important, like the way Robert Downey Jr s IRON MAN 3 had to address the trauma that he had from the ending of the AVENGERS movie And Ponti pulled it off I really admired the [...]

    20. Blue Moon Dead City series review Sometimes Omega work can be scary, like when you re locked in hand to hand combat with a completely unhinged Level 3 zombie who s intent on killing you And sometimes it can be nerve racking, like when you re hiding in an abandoned catacomb and holding your breath so that you don t make a noise and get discovered But what I never would have imagined is that sometimes Omega work can be really ring Nothing boring here This is the second book in the Dead City series [...]

    21. Blue Moon is the second book in a series about a girl named Mallory who is part of a group called Omega, who keep track of the zombies that live underneath New York City She recently discovered in the first book that her mother is still alive, well she is undead to be specific and seems to appear when she needs her most The only problem is she feels like she can t tell her fellow teammates When their new assignment leads them to tracking the original 13 undead, she finds herself in some dangerou [...]

    22. Molly s mother died two years ago There s no possibility that she s still alive A lowbie and a nobody at the most hardest school in New York, she s probably the weirdest kid alive Why She hangs out at the morgue with Natalie, the high school sweetheart with a flawless face and an extremely high IQ Suddenly, at school she s the center of attention when she s asked by Natalie and her team to be part of Omega, a secret society that polices and protects Manhattan, New York from the undead Hurt and u [...]

    23. In full disclosure, I have to say that I am acquainted with James Ponti, as he is a fraternity brother of my brother in law With that said, let me just say that I am so glad that connection exists because I would not have started reading the Dead City Books without having that connection I don t read middle grade fiction that much, and middle grade zombie fiction would not normally be on my radarbut can I just say I would have been missing out on SO MUCH Seriously, folks, I thought Dead City was [...]

    24. If I hadn t met James Ponti at a media specialist conference last year, I probably still wouldn t have read his books He hooked me in by reading the prologue to Dead City, and I have been a fan ever since I am so proud to have been able to encourage so many students to read this book, and every one of them admit they can t put it down James has an amazing way of writing which makes the reader believe that the undead are really roaming the streets of NYC Blue Moon addresses so many new issues abo [...]

    25. The second book in the Dead City series, this one is just as satisfying as the first Action packed, witty, and engaging A great middle grade zombie book with lots of twists and turns.
