    1. It s been a long time since I ve read a crime novel and I m glad it was this one Loved everything about it from the prose to the flawed but relatable characters Can t wait to read from Jessie Keane.

    2. she never forgot and she ll never forget ruby darke is born into a family that seems to hate her, but why could the colour of her skin have anything to do with it she is the youngest who s mother died in childbirth her 2 brothers both work in the gangster trade with the eldest often hitting her or looking on as her father does worse she works all hours in the family store but during the war manages to escape and work at the windmill theatre here she beets cornelius, a rich young man who sweeps h [...]

    3. I always enjoy Jessie Keane s books and this was no exception It focuses on twins, born to a mixed race mother and separated at birth, and the difficulties endured by all those affected by the scandal Loved it

    4. Why Every time I buy a Jessie Keane I promise myself I will take my time But no, who am I kidding I do what I always do, get thoroughly engrossed and then race through the book only to feel disappointed that I have again finished a JK book and now have the long wait until the next one When I realised that Jessie Keane was introducing a new character I was pretty excited Having said that, I wasn t sure whether they would live up to the fantastic characters that feature in the Annie Carter seriesI [...]

    5. Fantastic readI really loved this story It was interesting and gripping Great writing and fab characters Can t wait to read Lawless next

    6. This time round, I wanted to read something different, not a who dunnit, a police procedural or some blood soaked horror book, so I picked up this book, Nameless by Jessie Keane Nameless I must confess that as I was browsing on line for a new book, it was the title that first caught my attention Nameless What does this title imply What is it referring to Although I had never read any of her books, I knew that Jessie Keane s books are always top ranking When I read the short description, I had no [...]

    7. Is it possible for this woman to write a bad book Maybe it s because I ve only just finished it and have spent the past few days with these characters, and my opinion might change in the future but I actually think this book is better than the Annie Carter books I could easily have read this in a day but I didn t have the time unfortunately, but it is a book that you will not want to put down until you have reached the final page The book tells the story of Ruby Darke who you can t help but like [...]

    8. As usual, another blinding novel from Jessie, she never disappoints.Ruby Darke a mixed race girl who was brought up in war time London and abused by her father and brothers who are involved in the criminal world. The book tells of Rubys life story of how successful she becomes due to the hurt she has endured in her life and giving everything into her business to block out that hurt and making sure she never will be again. The characters within this book are fab, so real and believable.I have read [...]

    9. Definitely wouldn t win any literary prizes and it s one to avoid if you only do high brow novels Other than that though a great page turner that I thoroughly enjoyed would have given 4.5 stars had that been an option

    10. Late to the party but Jessie Keane has gained a fan This is the first of her books I ve read, it certainly won t be the last.Nameless was thoroughly enjoyable, I was drawn in by the characters and setting and emotionally invested in Ruby from the start I liked the writing style and short chapters, though I didn t always find the time frame easy to follow That said, the early chapters featuring Charlie and Joe Ronnie and Reggie set the scene beautifully.I m sure it was intended for the reader to [...]

    11. Jessie Keane is way up there with Martina Cole and anyone who reads Miss Cole s books would love to read this.Ruby Darke is a sad girl who is way down in her families estimation due to the question of her birth Her father uses her and treats her badly and her brother are no better When her father dies and her brother ends up in prison she gets her life together and she wants to get back what is owed to her She makes quite a name for herself although this is skimmed over quite quickly and she wan [...]

    12. I absolutely loved this book and was gripped from beginning to end I first discovered Jessie Keane a couple of years ago when I borrowed Dirty Game from the library I subsequently bought the rest of the books in the series but I ve still to read the final one. What I loved about this book is that it had everything, sadness, drama and everything else in between Some of the characters in this book were flawed but you couldn t help but feel for them Overall the book told the story of Ruby who rose f [...]

    13. I did really enjoy this book and its at least 4 stars but couldn t quite stretch to 5 There is a lot that happens in this story and it covers a long period of time The book is divided into 3 books, the blurb on the back takes you to what happens by the end of book one I found it lost momentum a little in the middle section before picking up again towards the end It s a busy story that deals with the London underworld, a bit Martina Cole I thought There s no hero or heroine to root for here, all [...]

    14. I have read all of Jessie Keane s novels and this one did not disappoint Brilliant read as per usual and I really enjoyed this one The twist in the tale without giving anything away kept me interested all throught the book and the ending was not a disappointment when it came Some books seem like the author has rushed the ending to get it finished, but this wasn t like that I would recommend this book to any crime thriller saga reader even if you haven t read one of Jessie s books before Looking [...]

    15. This reminded me a lot of a Martina Cole book Although it was long, it didn t take me too long to read.In a nutshell, a young girl gives birth to twins one dark, one light both are taken off her One is taken to a gangster to get rid of and another to the babies rich father Although they don t realise it, their lives become intertwined over the years It is actually a lot better than this When she does get involved in their lives again she is warned off but who by Going to look out for the rest of [...]

    16. Jessie Keane is a fantastic writer, her books just get better better I have read them all have never been disappointed Nameless was once again a cracking read about twins being born in war time London to a single mum I was engrossed in the story right from the beginning and would love a follow up to see what happens with Ruby, Daisy and Kit and where they go in the future Highly recommended UPDATE My wish has been grantede follow up to this story Lawless is due for release July 2014, can t wait

    17. Loved it, twists and turns Flawed characters Shes not afraid to not have a perfect ending You finish it feeling that things could have worked out better, but that s life isn t it and that little bit of discontentment leaves me feeling satisfied The bad guys however get what s coming to them, and writing allows you to imagine the true horror of the violence better than the tv

    18. A really enjoyable read which spans the decades from the 20 s to the 70 s Straight out of the Martina Cole school of writing in terms of characters, plot and setting A little less violent but just as enjoyable I really cared what happened to these characters and like Cole, Keane pulls no punches Not for the faint hearted.

    19. I plodded through the chapters without being particularly gripped but enjoyed the plot nonetheless I do feel that this went on for far, far too long which did result in loss of interest toward the end This would have been better off packed into half the amount of pages with added suspense and action Very long winded and not overly exciting but good writing from Jessie Keane.

    20. Not my usual type of read although I have found my self reading a bit like this since I picked up a discarded copy in a hostel on holiday in France, I do not like spoilers, but I found it compelling if a little contrived It s a gritty ride with love and violence and stretches across 5 or so decades I think it just avoids falling into too much gangland chliche.

    21. Shes half caste a product of her mums affair her mum died in her birth, she spends all her life looking after 2 brothers and dad who bully her terriably Later she falls in love with a married man, when she falls pregnant she gives birth to twins 1 black 1 white, the father takes the white twin her evil brother disposes of the black one or does he

    22. Jessie Keane is going to an author s event at Winchester Discovery Centre next week and I wanted to read one of her books before I went, I wasn t expecting to enjoy this book as much as a did, I don t normally go for gang land London type, where men are mean and ruthless but I really got into the story line.

    23. Normally love jesse keane early martina cole This book found the characters underdeveloped to the point where I didn t care, bring back Annie carter Will read sequel if there is one but only as this book has good story line.

    24. A bit like a cross between Barbara Taylor Bradford and Martina Cole a good read though I would have liked around how the principle character improved her lot I also managed to guess the mystery plot before the characters but none of this spoiled my enjoyment of a good story.

    25. Really enjoyed this book Flew through it in 3 days and couldn t stop thinking about it afterwards It was a book that I just had to re read With short chapters and interesting characters, it was almost impossible to put down Brilliant book

    26. I received this from and have enjoyed it immensely a very good book where you want to get to the end to see what happens but at the same time you don t want the book to end would recommend and could see it turned in to a film , thank you
