    3. Delightful story about love and friendship and finding yourself Speckled with lighthearted humour The Woman Who Met Her Match is a well written and warm story with a cast of believable characters.

I was really looking forward to reading this new book and it didn t disappoint me at all Lorrie had two children and she lost her partner and her children decide she should try on line dating but after disasters she decides to give it up She hears from her first love on line and they meet up but can they make a go of it or has time changed and both moved on Can Lorrie find the right person and is he right under her nose all along A very warm and funny storm and so poignant a must read.

    5. I loved this story combining a huge amount of humour, family relationships, best friends and first love Lorrie s children have signed her up on an internet dating site and she endures some very amusing dates which lead her to think that it s time to call time on dating in her forties. Her first love gets in touch with her on facebook and after hearing about a wonderful summer that she spent in France on an exchange trip, we look forward to meeting Antoine and seeing whether he is the missing piec [...]

    6. As a fan of Fiona Gibson I was looking forward to reading this The minute I seen the cover I knew this would be a great book. The story inside was not as I was expecting, I thought it would be romance etc and go down the one route of the main character falling in love with an old flame. This was good however as I didnt expect many parts of the story and I felt I knew how it was going to go but it went a different way I loved the main character Lorrie A middle aged woman with two kids the love of [...]

    7. Pretty good book I enjoyed reading The Woman who met her match but at some part, I found the story a bit too slow, I found myself a bit bored from time to time while reading this book and I hesitated to give it 3 stars instead of 4 but the last chapters are so great that I finally decided to give this book 4 stars In the end I enjoyed this book and I will read with pleasure the next book from Fiona Gibson

    8. All reviews can be found on my blog at thewritinggarnet.wordpressI ll admit, I was UBER excited about Fiona s new book as soon as I saw it Have you SEEN that font Vintage swirls meet bold and inspirational, that s my take on the font anywhoo SO, the book Lorrie, a single mum to two teenagers that are adamant to get her love life rocketing from 0 100, with a little help from a certain online dating site Little did she know what colourful men she would meet on the dates Cringe Being a single lady [...]

    9. I have read some rather hard hitting crime and psychological thrillers recently so I needed a little palate cleanser and this was just the perfect book to slip into and let its humour wash all the crime horror away I do love Fiona Gibson and her laugh out loud observations about love, life and family. The opening chapters of this book brought back so many memories for me I also went on a French exchange visit back in the Eighties to visit my French penpal Anne Yvonne although thankfully I went vi [...]

    10. Lorrie was a character I immediately liked She is a 40 something single mother, with two great kids, working hard in a job she loves at a cosmetics counter in a department store and has just decided that romance is not for her after a few bad though funny experiences with internet dating She doesn t have much confidence in her appearance, not helped by her svelte 70 year old mother continually putting her down and one of her dates saying she looked like a woman who likes her cakes But when she i [...]

    11. I love Fiona Gibson books because they take me away from the stresses and worries of daily life It has been good weather here and this is a perfect beach or garden read I knew what the ending ofthe book would be but that did not matter as the story was still intriguing. The part where she returns to meet her French lover from her teenage years is not the main theme of the book whcih I thought it would be It was a story of normal life from a woman who had lost her husband and held on to the guilt [...]

    12. Fiona Gibson is high on my list of authors I reach for when I m in need of a good, reliable comfort read.Guaranteed fun, amusement and light hearted pleasure which I devoured in two sittings on the same day Not entirely convinced the title fits but hey, never mind Recommended to all ChickLit fans Thanks to Avon Books UK for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    13. What a great book The Woman Who Met Her Match was After the last two books by Fiona Gibson that were enjoyable but not as much as I d loved them to be, the author is back with a great story like Take Mum Out or Mum on the Run and it makes me incredibly happy because I was already worried what s happening and when am I going to get the brilliant Fiona Gibson again No worries guys, here she is, with The Woman Who Met Her Match I felt immediately at home with this story It was so warm and welcoming [...]

    14. I pondered over the rating of this book for some time and finally decided that middle of the road was probably the fairest I have read other Fiona Gibson books and loved them, and this book was certaingly enjoyablebut just wasn t THAT memorable Lorrie takes centre stage and is a mother of 2 whose children are now reasonably grown up She has her lodger and long term friend Stu living with her, a job that she loves, and although things haven t always been easy it seems things are now easier I like [...]

    15. Predictable, but very sweet Almost always, the people who we think of last, those who are constants in our lives, are the ones who we need to keep close and love Often, what we re looking for is not to be found far from where we are, and mostly right before our eyes But certain things has to happen before realization can set in, and it s all good as there s a proper time for everything.Losing her husband to a road accident seven years ago, Lorrie tried to go out and meet other men The dates were [...]

    16. Reviews were confusingly positiveI stopped reading at 28 percent I just couldn t care about the story or the characters I skimmed ahead trying to find something Wasn t there for me.

    17. Time taken to read on and off over 3 days Publisher AvonPages 400Blurb from What if your first love came back on the scene 30 years later After yet another disaster, Lorrie is calling time on online dating She might be single in her forties, but she s got a good job, wonderful children and she s happy This, Lorrie decides, is going to have to be enough. That is, until she receives a very unexpected request from France Antoine Rousseau, who had once turned a lonely French exchange trip into a sum [...]

    18. I want to say that first and foremost, this book is promising Very promising, but personally I thought it had downfalls also For example, the blurb on GoodReads leads you to believe that its a simple book where she meets her teenage love and thats all that happens When in fact she has life issues to deal with also and as they were a big part of the book I personally feel they should have been highlighted a bit Granted I am not an expert in this area so who am I to know, just as a reader, I woul [...]

    19. I can t tell you enough how much I loved this book Perhaps because the main character s name is Laurie and she is 46 Coincidence But actually, I loved this book because the main character was so likable in every way, including her flaws She s coping with the loss of her partner David and the aftermath of being becoming a widow at age 39 She and David had two children together, a house, and a good life Now, she becomes everything to her children two smart and really likeable teenagers who love th [...]

    20. I really liked this book What a sweet story how do you not adore Lorrie The narrator audible edition was phenomenal she did such a good job to give depth and kindness to Lorrie s character and I love her accent I loved the theme of the book, as well, which, in summary is loving one s self and feeling beautiful, despite age or circumstance I got SO MAD at certain characters and even though I figured everything out beforehand, I was happy that Lorrie finally figured her heart out But what the The [...]

    21. Although this was a somewhat romantic story, I did not find it especially funny, as was touted in some reviews Actually, it seemed a bit sad to me as it takes the reader through many unhappy times for the main character, Lorrie, a 40 something mother of two teenagers She starts with an online dating site and several poorly matched dates, leaps back in time to a teenage love and is blind to some real affection right under her nose while all the time going on and on about how wonderful makeup is f [...]

    22. The Woman Who Met Her MatchLorrie at age 16 was sent by her mother to France to stay with her pen pal for the summer Lorrie did not want to go and was truly miserable until she met her pen pal s brother and he took an interest in her Fast forward 30 years, Lorrie is widowed with two teenaged children, works in a beauty hall, and her friend from childhood, Stu, is a tenant in her home Her children have signed her up on a dating service called datemylovelymum and she has been on some truly awful d [...]

    23. A delightful 4.5 read Lorrie, the heroine, was a 46 year old single woman with two teen aged children The children ages 15 and 17 wrote her profile and submitted it to on line dating site Her children thought it was high time she got on with her life Seven years earlier, her partner, and father of her children, had died instantly in a car accident I was rooting for Lorrie the entire book The dating disasters were hilarious Her first love from 30 years earlier, when she was a summer exchange stud [...]

    24. I initially found it quite a difficult book to get into with regards to the storyline and the characters However, as the book went on, I was surprisingly impressed especially towards the ending where it is not all as predictable as you may think when you first read the synopsis I was surprised by the outcome of the book, which I shan t spoil for those who are yet to read , although I could begin to anticipate it in the prior chapters There is so much crammed into the 370 odd pages that I feel as [...]

    25. An excellent read with a totally likeable heroine I ve not read all of Fiona s books as I m not a mum and I thought that was the target audience I m not keen on books about juggling feeds and nappies and competing with school gate mums This was nothing like that and I really liked it I found it hard to put down It starts off by setting the scene with the prologue of Yorkshire lass Lorrie Foster going on a school exchange visit to France at the age of 16 where she falls madly in love with the bro [...]

    26. I had high hopes for this book, but I was let down I didn t like the POV that present tense format, it just bugs me It didn t make this story seem closer or immediate. The ending was telegraphed from the first quarter of the book, despite a couple of attempts at red herrings I didn t bite.I wasn t amused either I was expecting humor, at least to smile, but it all fell flat for me.It s very possible that I am not the target audience This book received mostly good reviews, but I m a crossover to c [...]
